Lydia Evans

Spain is the no.1 country in Europe for sex trafficking (and one of the highest in the world) due to the high demand for prostitution. Experts estimate that 80-90% of the 500,000 sex-workers in Spain are unidentified victims of trafficking. There are so many women in deep need of God’s power to break chains, bring freedom and healing, and restore hope and dignity. Whilst it’s easy to despair, I know that God is at work transforming lives, and it’s my prayer that He would use me to be part of this restoration process as I walk alongside women and seek to show them Jesus’ immense and boundless love.

Lydia is based in Madrid supporting the ministry of Amar Dragoste, an organisation working with women who have been trafficked into the sex industry, who offer holistic care and practical support alongside the hope of the gospel. Lydia has a particular heart for supporting women into employment as this is a key part of ensuring long-term freedom and independence. She currently does this through Amar Dragoste’s jewellery business which acts as an introduction to work for the women living in one of the refuge houses. She loves getting to know the courageous, funny and talented women God has put in her path, seeing them grow in confidence and hope, and watching God heal and transform their lives.
