Edward en Trix Landman

"It has touched us that in this beautiful part of our country, many churches stand (almost) empty and few people know Jesus. We want to walk alongside people in everyday life, sharing our faith in word and deed, with the hope that people will come to know Jesus."

Edward and Trix Landman have grown increasingly fond of the Limburg landscape, Limburg culture, and the people of Limburg in general over the past few years. They have increasingly felt a calling to become missionally active there. After getting to know the projects Proef! and Vind! in Maastricht, which are initiatives of Nederland Zoekt, they have found that this way of working—small-scale, neighborhood-focused, and relational—suits them.

They have found a house in the Scharn district and, together with Frederik and Eline Boersema, they want to build a missional community in the Scharn and Heer districts. A missional community is an open community of neighborhood residents, where everyone is welcome. By organizing activities, at their home and in the neighborhood, neighbors can meet each other, connections can be formed, and people can engage in relaxed conversations about faith and meaning. Trix will commit herself full-time to the community. Edward will keep his job and will participate in his free time.
